Yadim for Maybelline New York took inspiration from the beauty pageant themed, politically charged Opening Ceremony FW 2016 show to create a deconstructed version of a traditional pageant girl for each runway look. “The show combines celebrities and models and some satire in the performance, so we wanted the makeup to be a simplistic version of what pageant makeup would be.” Yadim says.
To begin, Yadim applies Dream Cushion Fresh Face Liquid Foundation to cover any blemishes or imperfections, leaving the skin mostly raw.
For the eyes, Yadim uses Eyestudio Master Duo 2-in-1 Glossy Liquid Liner in Black Lacquer to create a straight, elongated wing.
On the eyes he blends Color Sensational The Loaded Bolds in Pitch Black with Lip Studio Shine Shot Glassy Topcoat and applies onto each eyelid to add a smoky sheen.
Yadim applies “face tape” up against the hair line and threaded into the hairstyle to pull the eyes back taut, to play a bit more on the pageant vibes of the performance. He finishes with Color Sensational The Loaded Bolds in Wickedly White on the brow bone as a highlight.
